Valeriehaus Sportgastein

The Valeriehaus is a hidden gem in the majestic mountain area of Salzburg. It is located at 1,600 m altitude in the middle of the Hohe Tauern National Park scenery. The Klaffenböck family has been running the Valeriehaus with its alpine restaurant, sun terrace and sleeping rooms since 2012. Liene and Otto welcome you with open arms and spoil you with delicious food, heartwarming vibes and a cozy atmosphere day in, day out.

The history of the Valeriehaus goes back to 1889, when it was built by the German-Austrian Alpine Association as a shelter for mountaineers and hikers. It was named Valeriehaus in honor of the youngest daughter of the imperial couple Franz Josef and Elisabeth.
